Chess is a board game played between two players with a chessboard and pieces. Tournaments are organized around the world and it is considered a sport.

This game is played with 32 chess pieces on an 8×8 square area called a chessboard. Half of the 64 squares are black and half are white. The sides take the white and black colored pieces, and the game develops as each player makes one move at a time. At the beginning of the game, white and black have 16 pieces. They consist of a king, a queen, two rooks, two bishops, two knights and eight pawns. The object of the game is to checkmate the opponent’s king.

The object of the game is to checkmate the opposing king. This means that the square where the opposing king is located is under threat and there is no escape to a square that is not under threat or no other move to prevent the threat. This is based on the principle of taking the opponent’s other pieces and weakening them. Also, rapid development is important in chess. One of the most important steps to show rapid progress is gambit, that is, pawn sacrifice. This allows more stones to be opened to the center comfortably. If a player’s king is not under threat but his only remaining piece is his king, and his king has no move to a non-threatening square, the game is patted, that is, the game ends in a draw. The game can also end at any time when one of the players concedes defeat or when one player offers a draw and the other accepts it, but this cannot be called checkmate. During the game, it is essential to restrict the opponent’s movement by placing the pieces in advantageous places and to reduce the strength of the opponent by taking his pieces. According to the rules, each piece has the power to place the opponent piece in a square it can reach, and to dismiss the piece it has displaced from the game. This is called taking a piece. The taken piece cannot be returned to the game again, but a pawn reaching the last square of the line can be exchanged for another piece that is valuable from the desired pawn, less than the king, whether it is out of the game or not. This is called promoting.
